Austria has a rich history and has managed to maintain many of the old buildings and architecture that go along with it. The country is small and nestled between Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. The largest city is Vienna, which has a rich cultural history, restaurants, and a diverse cultural mix that resulted from different wars and from the immigration of people from nearby countries.

When planning a trip to Vienna, you should consider visiting the city's Museum Quarter, which offers art museums, history museums, and the Sigmund Freud Museum. You can also visit Schonbrunn Palace, which is outside the city, but accessible by the metro system. While most people stay in Vienna, there are many other cities including Salzburg, Gratz, and Innsbruck. Each have their own vibrant history as well.

There have been many famous authors, musicians, and scientists that lived and worked in Austria. You will be able to visit their birthplaces, and places they loved to go when not working. Walking tours are available. If staying in Salzburg, you will be able to take the 'Sound of Music Tour', which is a walking tour that has themes from the movie. The Mirabell Palace and Gardens is another popular tourist attraction for those who visit Salzburg.

With an active winter season, there are many places to ski in the Austrian Alps and enjoy the outdoors. You can stay at a lodge or just go skiing for the day. Other pastimes in Austria include ice skating, soccer, and ice hockey. You will be able to attend matches depending on the time of year that you visit. For those who enjoy sports, especially winter sports, there is much do to in Austria.

Austrian cuisine is considered some of the best food in the world. There are many styles that have melded together to create this cuisine. You should try wiener schnitzel, erdapfel salat, a potato dish, tafelspitz, a beef dish, cheese Danish, and kaiserschmarrn, which is a traditional Austrian dessert during your stay. You will be able to choose between small cafes, fine dining, or larger family style dining. After a long day of sightseeing, having a good, hearty meal is very comforting.

As you can see, there is plenty to see, do, and eat during your stay in Austria. You will be able to see a lot of historical buildings and get a better understanding of how Austria changed after WWI and WWII. There have been many political and religious changes that have happened during Austria's history. You will be able to see evidence of these changes in the building and in the people themselves. With walking tours, palaces, museums, outdoor activities including skiing and horseback riding, you will have a wonderful trip to Austria.

Guided Tours in Bali

Bali, one of the most beautiful places in the world, holds an unparalleled mystique for any lover of the south pacific. Filled with incredible scenery and colorful culture, a visit to Bali is an experience you will never forget. Especially if you pick up a souvenir or two, and snap some good photos.

Many people like to take guided tours of Bali. The locals know better than anyone where the best spots for travel are located, and they know how popular these areas have been with foreign tourists. Here are some things you might want to make sure your guided tour in Bali offers.

The Monkey Park in Ubud

If wildlife, an in particular monkeys, interest you then you may well want to check out the monkey park in Ubud. You can feed the monkeys small pieces of fruit, purchased at the entrance, and or simply wander around the park. Bear in mind, though, that although they may sometimes act very human they are still animals and you need to be careful. Still, the habitat is extremely well done and the scenery is beautiful.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu

Officially called the Pura Luhur Uluwatu, this is quite possibly the most spectacular temple in Bali. Originally, it was built to defend the city form evil spirits coming from the south west, and is highly important in local rituals as well as being revered throughout the island. Built in the 1100s, it is situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Bukit peninsula, and is flanked by some beautiful seventeenth century temples.

The Batur Volcano

One of Indonesia's most active volcanoes, it is a must-see for any visitor to Bali. One of the largest volcanoes, the caldera alone is more then 10 kilometers wide, and about 450 meters deep. Said to be the throne of the goddess Danu, it has a place in many of the islands legends.

Barong Dance

Although there is no exact meaning for "Barong," the word is still used to define a dance in which animals are represented by masks of the dancers. For instance, in the Barong Macan (tiger) there are masks of the tiger. The Barong itself is a long, curved creature of mythology that serves to protect man, good spirits, and other positive aspects.

I'm sure you'll form your own opinions of the best places in Bali, but remember that as in any popular tourist spot, there are people out there to take advantage of you. Take care, make sure you know what you're doing, and you shouldn't have any nasty surprises. Oh, and turn down anything offered for free- it very rarely really is.

Each year, a large number of individuals, couples, and families make the decision to travel to Mexico. Most have visited Mexico before. If you are planning a Mexico vacation, and you have never been there before, you may have some concerns. You may be wondering what places are safe for you to visit.

Mexico is like all other countries. There are areas that are known as tourists attractions and then there are other areas that tourists are advised to stay away from. You can easily learn about these areas online. Researching every city and town in Mexico is a long and daunting process. To save time and a costly vacation mistake, you are encouraged to examine the benefits of taking a guided Mexico tour.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of booking a guided tour in Mexico is that you will be with a local who is familiar with the area. Guided tours are held in areas that are considered safe. In addition to showing you around certain areas of Mexico, your tour guide may be able to offer you additional travel tips and suggestions. These suggestions may help you with your vacation after your guide has ended.

If you are interested in taking a guided Mexican tour, you will have to find the tour company which you wish to do business with. There are a large nubmer of guided tour companies in the area. If you do not have a preference as to which company you like to tour with, you may want to first search for a destination. The destination you select will be important in determining what you will learn and see while on a guided tour.

Many guided tours take place in Cooper Canyon, the Oaxaca Mountains, the Yucatan Peninsula and Baja. In Mexico, Baja is most known for its water activities. Many popular guided tours include whale watching and kayaking. Whether you set out to watch the whales or you select a kayaking tour, you are sure to see Gray whales. Many times, they will come right up to your boat, making for great pictures or video footage.

Cooper Canyon and the Oaxaca Mountains are guided tours that are ideal for those that love to hike. To participate in these tours, it is advised that you receive the proper health clearance. You tour will likely follow trails, but much of the terrain can be rough. The Yucatan Peninsula is ideal for travelers who wish to learn more about the ancient history of Mexico.

The above mentioned destinations in Mexico are just a few of the many. Guided tours are found all across Mexico. If there is particular topic or activity that interests you, you are sure to find a guided tour that will offer you excitement. Hikers often select a hiking tour, boats often opt for boat tours, and history lovers often select tours that focus on the history of Mexico.

In addition to selecting where you would like to go on a guided tour, you will also need to determine how long you like that tour to be. In Mexico, guided tours can last as long as one day or over one week. You should easily be able to determine how long a guided tour is by looking at the price. Weeklong guided tours can cost thousands of dollars, but most of your accommodations are taken care of. Some guided tours can be considered all-inclusive vacations.

Journey Mexico, Siesta Tours, and Ufly Mexico are three of the most well-known guided tour companies in Mexico. You can examine the tours found by these three companies by visiting their online websites or by requesting free travel brochures. If you are interested in finding additional tours, your local travel agent may be able to offer you assistance.

By selecting a guided tour of Mexico, you do not always have to be looking over your shoulder. Vacationing in a safe area with an experienced tour guide is about as carefree as your Mexico vacation can get.

Earlier, the Amer Fort atop the mountains surrounding Jaipur City was the center of power and the residence of the Kings (Sawais) of Jaipur. Amer Fort was built in early1500s.

Where Asian mult-culturism rules: Singapore as a tour destination!

A cosmopolitan Island country with a stimulating mix of Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures, Singapore as a tour destination has immense scope for fun, adventure, shopping, culinary treats and romantic heart-beat moments galore. For the global tourist on the look out for great bargains, international shopping experiences, world-class products, exciting nightlife, relaxation and spa-centered rejuvenation or simply a great holiday destination, Singapore is where the fun is!

What sets Singapore apart: the essence of Singapore as a tour destination.
Varied cultural offerings and veneration for all religions, evident in the importance the state gives to freedom of spiritual belief with its plentiful churches, temples and Buddhist monasteries and prayer halls makes up the essence of truly multicultural and cosmopolitan Singapore city. A rich and diverse style of architecture as depicted in Singapore's numerous museums, houses, shopping complexes and extraordinary office buildings portray the city's willingness to imbibe the best of both worlds: the West and the East effectively and artistically.

Things to do while visiting Singapore as a tour destination:

A modern, metropolitan city that has a vibrant mix of old and new, contemporary and traditional establishments that co-exist in comfortable levels for welcoming global tourists is evident in the island city's essential hospitality flavor even today: local restaurants, zoos, native food markets and eclectic social diversities are as much the crowd-pullers to Singapore as a tour destination as other aspects of fine living, such as Chijmes, a popular dining, shopping and entertainment site, Dalhousie Obelisk, at Empress Place, Istana- the official residence of the President of Singapore and Lau Pa Sat. Merlion, the lion head with a fish body resting on a crest of waves is Singapore's national emblem; Parliament House and the Elephant Statue, Raffles Hotel, one of the world's last great 19th century hotels, Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, Supreme Court and City Hall are other popular postcard images that make up the rest of Singapore's landmarks!

Golf Tour To England

Are you tired of Golfing at your local course, and the need to make a tee time reservation one week in advance. Have you been an avid golfer all of your life and want to give yourself the golfing experience of a lifetime, a place that is just full of extremely beautiful landscape, rich in history and culture, aside from some of the most outstanding Golf Courses in Europe, and worldwide for that matter. Head over to beautiful England for a truely memorable experience.

England has one of the oldest histories in the World. Go to England and play on courses that are hundreds of years old, which you realize after comming across your first castle. Courses following the edge of the forest, fairways flowing out along the rolling hills or alongside the Ocean, with incredible views to be remembered, so be sure to bring the camera, this is a must.

Play on the same courses that have been traveled on by Kings and Queens, and a history of Royal family members. While you are there do not forget the other sights as well, make it a memorable vacation, and golfing adventure. Walk down cobble stone streets that are older than your own homeland where ever that may be.

Visit the World famous art galleries, museums, maybe even tip a pint in the local pub, just for the experience, since they are meeting places, and favorites for family members alike, darts, stories, travelers socializing with new local friends alike.

View architecture that has shaped the way we build today. I see the old English style in many countries, far beyond just the states, but even Raffles in Singapore, the origin of the Singapore Sling.

View the countryside that Legends once walked upon, and all the time playing your favorite pastime Golf. Taking the time to decide not only where you want to play but also what sights you are looking forward to. I must say, the grass is never greener playing different Golf Courses in England. It really has its own style and character, no other can match it with the mix of history.

Are you looking for the large cities like London or do you want the quietness of a smaller rural course. A romantic get a way with your better half or a full tour of all that England has to offer. The right decision will make this trip a most memorable Golf Vacation Tour.

Lets look at a few courses to give you an ideal of what is available. Cornwall, England is home to the Bude an North Cornwall Golf Club. A 18 hole seaside course that the sea breeze makes challenging. Year round play is available but a phone call is recommended in the winter months. Weather conditions are also most important, selecting only the best timing for your golfing travel adventures.

Another fine course is located in Merseyside, England. Featuring seaside links, my favorite for the view. This 18 hole course is set amongst the tall sand dunes providing the challenge you seek. This course also hosts championship Golf when the open is played at Royal Birkdale.

If you are only looking to stay in London then there are a few courses within Greater London. The Dukes Meadows Golf Club is an 18 hole course with U.S.G.A standard greens.

The London Scottish Golf Club is another club located within London. It features a 18 hole course set within common woodlands. Many talk about Scotland which is also very beautiful, but England offers an interesting blend of both worlds.

Trent Park Public Golf Course is available year round and features a heated driving range as well as an 18 hole Parkland Course. Bring a jacket, it can get cool at times, and check the weather seasons before planning any Golf vacation.

Outside of the City and scattered throughout England are Golf Courses that cater to the traveling Golfer. With the Seaside Links and Parklands threaded throughout the country, Golfing across England would be a life altering experience. Its enjoyable to stay at a real B & B, verses a Hotel at times, depends on your preference, but a great experience depending what Golf Course or city you are near.

Imagine the pictures, the stories and the friends that you would meet while playing that foursome. At the end of the day eating dinner with your newfound golfing friends or enjoying a pint at the 19th and 20th hole .

Make your plans for the trip of a lifetime. And do not stop with England, head over to the home of Golf, Scotland. Once in Europe, between countries is so close, spread your Golf Vacation Tour out if time allows, and what an adventure you will have.

Broadway Pier – Cruise Ships New Home

A vote to allow the San Diego Port District to build a $28 million facility to make Broadway Pier a new permanent cruise ship terminal was made by the California Coastal Commission last Wednesday.

A few controversy about the new terminal has risen as there are opponents who declare the views of the San Diego Bay could be blocked by the buildings they will build and it violates the spirit of a 2005 waterfront makeover plan to show the pier as a public plaza.

Bayfront Complex Coalition's Don Wood expresses that the port is attending to the cruise ship industry at the expense of the public. “The port has reneged on those promises and the public is losing important access to the waterfront,” he said, adding that litigation might be coming

Coastal Commission has said that the terminal will have insignificant impact on coastal resources and supporters say that the terminal and the cruise ships will bring economic benefits to San Diego along with hundreds of new jobs. The public is still welcome to the area when ships are not in port to enjoy a 15,000 square foot viewing area of the 1,000 foot pier.

Marguerite Elicone, a port spokeswoman, reports that the terminal is expected to seek construction bids very soon and it will be ready by 2011.

Coastal Commission reports show that the project was supported by San Diego Port Tenants Association and is being opposed by the San Francisco-based Public Trust Alliance, Bayfront Complex Coalition, Save Our Forest and Ranchlands and some private citizens along with some concerns from The American Institute of Architects from San Diego's Chapter.

Due to the post-September 11 security restrictions, what started out as a temporary building in a tent structure to handle cruise ships while some parts of the terminal is getting a makeover, the tent was replaced by permanent metal structure. Officials from San Diego objected to this change since the port and the city were supposed to spend more than $200 million on a bayfront project called the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan and that a building like that didn't belong in that scene.

A 60, 000 square foot building was proposed to be constructed 400 feet back from the Harbor Drive as a result.

A $12 million loan from the Carnival Cruise line and a $28 million fund from the port will be used to cover for the construction of the terminal.
